Funeral Services Held for Blue Grass Pioneer
Kathryn Fell, pioneer resident
of Blue Grass, passed away Octo-
ber 16 at the St. Mary's hospital
in the Detroit Lakes, where she had
been a patient for three weeks.
She had been ill for three months
and was confined to the St. John's
hospital at Fargo before being re-
moved to Detroit Lakes.
She was born in Germany May
20, 1856 and came to America in
1874 to Wisconsin where she was
married to Nick Fell. Soon after
their marriage they came to Blue
Grass to homestead.
She was the mother of ten child-
ren, six of them with her hus-
band preceded her in death. Sur-
viving are: a son, William Fell of
Arago, with whom she had made
her home the last few years,
three daughters, Mrs. Joe Pickar
and Mrs. George Kallman of Se-
beka and Mrs. Clarence Thomas of
Hansboro, N. D., 23 grandchildren
and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Fri-
day morning at 9:30 o'clock at St.
Ann's church with Monsignor A.
Plachta officiating and burial was
in the Wadena cemetery. Pallbear-
ers were: Anton Horstmann, F.
William Johnson, Herman Rohr,
John Rohr, William Robin and
Those who came from a distance
to attend the services were: Mr.
and Mrs. Wm. Fell, Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Fell and Henry Fell or Arago,
Mrs. John Wohlsdorf of Detroit
Lakes and Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Pollock of Park Rapids.
