Laid to Rest
Was Resident Of
Blue Grass Area
For Many Years
Funeral services were conduct-
ed Monday morning, August 18,
from St. Hubert's Catholic Church,
Blue Grass, for Mrs. Frances
Kempf, a resident of the Blue
Grass community for many years.
The Rev. William VanRooy of-
ficiated at the Requiem High Mass
and interment was in the church
cemetery. Peter and Alois Kempf
and Alois, George, Frank and
Simon Kern served as bearers.
Mrs. Kempf passed away
August 15 in St. Micheals Hos-
pital in East Grand Forks where
she had been visitiing in the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Einer Sve-
She was born Frances Fruth,
on June 1, 1668 in Amberg, Ger-
many. She came to this country
as a child and was married in
January, 1896 in St. Cloud to
Frank Kempf, Sr., who passed
away on October 1, 1944.
The Christian Mother's Society
of St. Hubert's Church attended
the funeral in a body and there
was a parish vigil Sunday evening
at the Scherkenbach Funeral
Home at 8 o'clock.
Three daughters and three sons
survive, Mrs. Einer Svedahl (Ver-
ona) of East Grand Forks, Minn.,
Joseph Kempf of Silverton, Ore.,
Mrs. Mary Braun of Elberta,
Minn., Mrs. Steve Satzer (Anna)
of Morris, Minn., John Kempf of
Astoria, Ore., and Frank Kempf.
