afternoon, with Rev. R.F. Mat-

of friends attended to pay tribute
to a young hero who gave his life
for his country.

Wesley Molmen DeLapp was born

ton, South Dakota. At the age of
three he moved with his parents
to Rockwell township, where he
grew to manhood. He was bap-
tized and confirmed at the Beth-
any Luthern church of Blue
Grass. On June 22, 1940 he was
united in marriage to Ardelle
Pearson of Sebeka, and to this un-
ion, one child, Ross Wesley was
born.

He was employed by the Wad-
ena County Highway Department
before entering the service in
May 1944. After completing his
boot training at Farragut, Idaho,
he served overseas as a gunner on
the destroyer Luce until he was
killed in action off the coast of
Okinawa May 4, 1945.

Besides his wife and son he
leaves to mourn his untimely
passing, his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Earl DeLapp of Hibbing, Minn.,
two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Peterson
Jr, (Mary Lou) of Sebeka, and
Mrs. Robert Skaar, (Mildred) of
